Painful

I didn't how much pain until i feel the pain, the pain of unfairness. Really painful, i could empathy for those who did not get their bonus and increment for this year. The pain come because the confusion:
1. Is it something that i have no control over.
2. Am i doing something that is not productive?
3. What is the feedback and why i've got no promotion?
I've that this pain can jolt me from the reality and get on and learn from this experience and venture elsewhere. I am wondering is the effort = rewards or impression = rewards. Really, this world is not as simple and fair as i thought so, naive i think so.
